She Said YES! I'm Now Engaged To The Beautiful Miss Hang Le!

<![CDATA[After nearly THREE YEARS with my wonderful girlfriend Hang, I've finally stepped up and committed to her. I feel like she probably waited a bit too long, and I would have done it sooner if she hadn't of kept my wallet low on cash with all the trips she'd been inviting me to! I've been working what seems like non-stop hours trying to build something stable for myself, financially. I haven't yet, but the money has been coming a little easier lately, and by the looks of things, I felt like it was time to do it, before I left for California for internship opportunities in the summer and spent all the cash then. Hang is a wonderful woman, destined for success in everything she is setting out to do. She's incredibly smart, full of life, laughter, and enthusiasm. She has a cute childish side that I can't stay away from, and she's constantly (whether she knows it or not) pushing me to do more, and be more. Some of you may ask "how did you do it?" - Well too bad, I'm not telling ya. All I'll say, is that we had an awesome day together. I took her skiing, which she had never done before. We originally had plans to go out on an awesome dinner, but unfortunately Hang hurt her leg on the ski hill (nothing serious), so we opted to having an awesome dinner on her bedroom floor (take out). I presented her with a gift... a distracting gift. You see, it's always better when you present a gift in such a way, that the girl gets excited about it. Her attention is drawn away from the possibility of a proposal, and she becomes happy about the gift anyways (this one was a pretty good one, I think). She'll tell her friends all about it I'm sure, and eventually, the whole world will probably know. I suppose, if anybody really wants to know, they can ask her. It was a couple days before our three-year anniversary (same day as Valentines Day), and we were celebrating it this weekend. Still, I didn't really show or hint at this at all. I hid it very well, and she had no idea it was coming. Her first real worlds to me was essentially: "Are you serious?" "Really....?" (In a 'holding back an uncomfortable joy and confusion' tone) ....."Yes". It was great. The day didn't go exactly how I wanted it to go, and I totally forgot the short little speech I had planned. I even practiced a bit saying the words in Vietnamese. I had forgotten how to say it though, and it's a good thing too. I later found out that Google Translate is full of garbage, and that what I would have said (had I remembered) wouldn't really have been the best way to go about it. Anyways, that's really the big update I had to share. I did the whole one-knee and pop the question thing finally, so we can all stop pressuring Charlie to do it now, mmmmmk? I'm gonna be paying that little thing off for quite a while, so don't ask me for any loans either. You can comment below if you'd like to hear her side of the story, and bug her about it if you're her friend. I personally haven't heard her thoughts and stuff about everything yet, so it would be new to me too! [charliead]]]>
