A Message To All Of You Who Love and Hate On the Coca Cola Superbowl Ad: "America Is Beautiful"

<![CDATA[Last night, during Superbowl 48, Coca cola released an advertisement that has gotten mixed reactions... which is appropriate considering it was a mixture of people that took part in it, and because the mixture of people that took part in it was the reason for the mixed reactions. You see how silly this is now? Let's watch the ad above, and then continue. The ad shows a vast diversity of people, from all areas of the world. These people, which make up the majority of our country, speak a variety of different languages, grew up with different histories, and come from ancestors far less ruthless, evil, greedy, heartless, and tyrannical than my own. They come from cultures that spread the love of family and people instead of the love of wealth, fame, or a fictional storybook character created by the Romans. They love each other for their unique diversity, not hate all others who are different from them. They come from oppression, distrust, and discomfort... they aren't causing it. More notably, because they come from various places around the world, they speak diverse languages. They speak more languages than most Americans do, because too many Americans are self-centered and pompous, believing they are above the world; believing they are all that matters anyways, belittling the cultures of other races. They aren't racist: They're just dick heads. I say they, because while I am American, I want absolutely nothing to do with these old segregated ways of hateful thinking, and wish for a better tomorrow full of people with acceptance and decency. I do not want the image of America to be the people I'm about to talk about, and in some cases, address directly. Coca Cola's ad above was meant to promote a new way of thinking: We are all together; a melting pot of colors and a unity of pride. A diverse range of people that stand for the same thing, in different ways. The ad was a wonderful display of how this country was founded, and how this entire nation has always been since it was founded: A nation of immigrants. Many of my fellow white American people in this country have forgotten that. They've forgotten that this country doesn't 'belong' to them. In any way. It belongs to all of us, as a nation; as a mixed melting pot nation. The Asians speaking their own language, the Arabic people speaking their own language, the Spanish people, and everyone else involved in this song, are just as worthy of praising this country as you are. They aren't hating this country. They're in fact doing quite the opposite, singing "America the Beautiful." But now Twitter and Facebook users around the world have begun blasting Coca Cola for this ad, claiming they're not going to buy their products anymore, and that they "don't support" what they said, some of the people in the ad, or what the company is trying to express. Closed-minded, they're making long speeches and status updates telling the world of their backwards and outdated principals that are thankfully dying away with them slowly every day. What part of the song bothers you, exactly? Is it because there was a gay couple in it? Is it because they weren't speaking English? How many of the people bitching about that even know the words in English, let alone another language? Do you have any idea how difficult it is to learn another language? How about how hard it is to be crucified for not knowing something? Crucified for just being and loving who you are? Probably not... after all, you're a white person in America. You're mentality is perfect just as it is. It needs no adjustment, because you have a full and complete understanding with the world, without even having to look out of the country. After all... unless we're fighting some war and kicking some ass in some dessert someplace, who cares about everyone else, right? Hoora! [hr] Why should you have to learn another language right? Why should you have to conform to this country at all, right? Why don't these other people make things convenient for you, since they're outsiders and shit, right? I mean, what good is it to experience other cultures? To learn new things? To meet with people who are different from you, and have experienced the world through different eyes? What possible value would that have? I mean, they are honoring our country here, and singing praise about 'this great nation' of people... but I don't care, because they're different from me, and I hate different things. You shouldn't be buying Coca Cola anymore, because they clearly don't stand for the same closed-minded, bigoted values that you do. You should stand up with pride, shout out "SPEAK ENGLISH IDIOTS!" from the tops of the rocky mountains of Colorado while you sip on an ice cold Budweiser after watching NASCAR. Yes, you should totally do that. 'MERICA! Don't you mess with us! We'll bomb your ass! [hr] You see, that's what it really all boils down to here, is that too many Americans are complete ignorant assholes. If you're one of the people hating on this ad, and you're reading this now, feel free to let us all know who you are in the comments below. Make your bigoted self known, please. I'd love to hear what possible excuse you have to say. Try to use decent grammar and spelling too though, because us 'liberal idiots' passed your 3rd grade reading level a long time ago, and we sometimes forget what some of the words you use actually mean. It's not that I'm not smart enough to learn them or anything... it's just that, well, I feel I'm already a better writer and reader than you, and I don't feel it's necessary to adapt myself for you. If you want to come over to my site and speak to me, you should have to learn to speak like me, right? Fair is fair. Use a dictionary to help you... and if you're confused by that word (it is quite long), try finding a rather old looking book that just has a bunch of words and stuff in it. Then close your eyes, spin around in circles three times, and then point to a random page in the book. Whatever word your finger lands on... use that one. I'm sure it will be very insulting. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ReHUMUb9gY The problem with your logic (or lack thereof) is that you’re too patriotic. You’re so “I love America” that you’ve forgotten what it stands for. You’ve forgotten the way completely, to the point where you even have a problem with people loving your country if ‘they don’t do it the right way.’ The right way, of course, being the way you do it. Obviously. So to all foreign people reading this message, I have some advice: You can take pride in America, call it beautiful, and express your love for it: but if you do it in a different way than right-wing assholes of this country do it, you’re going to get blasted for it by pompous idiots on the internet. I’m sorry to tell you this now, because I’m late to the show, but it’s apparently true. Try to get by all you want, but if you see a white person, don’t be scared or worried. Most of us are good people. Most of us have progressed our way of life and belief system beyond the 1800’s, and are very nice to everyone despite their differences. We care about your values and your way of life, and we’ve outgrown the archaic belief systems of racial inferiority, and a made-up deity discussed in a man-made book. Be prepared though: Because some of us are terrible people. Some of us have no respect for difference. Some of us are fuckin’ nuts. You’ll know who they are the moment you try to speak to them, whether it’s on the phone or in person. They’ll treat you like an inferior person. They’ll treat you as if you are nothing to them, and like you’re just a big problem plaguing this nation. Even though you show love towards this country, they’ll be disgusted by you. They might be a self-perpetuating fallacy, primed for a charge against the red flag of difference, with their pitchforks sharpened and ready to strike against anyone who looks, talks, acts, celebrates, worships, dresses, loves, eats, sweats, runs, cleans, or otherwise performs any sort of action, belief, or feeling in another way from what they are used to. They might be old, stuck in their ways. They might be young, brainwashed from their older parents. They might be a lot of things, but they won’t be me. They won’t love your difference or your diversity, regardless of how you were raised, and the conditions in which you were raised in. They won’t show interest in your belief systems, or make an attempt at learning about your culture. They won’t care. [hr] Now… If you’re actually offended by an inspirational advertisement promoting diversity and world union, and you alienate yourself from the majority of the decent people of this world… than leave my page, unfriend me, remove yourself from my life and never speak to me or my family again. Not only do I have zero interest in knowing you as person or company, but your very presence is something I do not wish upon my future children either. I don’t need you destroying their minds with your shit either. You’re a disease plaguing the world, and I want to be rid of you. Might seem hurtful and unfair, I know… but now that you’re on the other side of your hatred, you’ll understand what you do to the beautiful people praising America in this song.
