Driving Across The Country Alone. Yeah, That’s a Great Idea. Stories Coming Soon
I wasn’t particularly excited about driving across the country alone. I thought the experience wouldn’t be the best in the world, and I’d found myself bored faster than originally anticipated. However, logging the trip with video was an instant cure.
In the beginning, I thought I was actually going to hate this decision. By 12 hours into the trip, I had arrived just outside of Illinois, and nothing was very exciting yet. In the coming hours, nothing would get better. Iowa and Nebraska offered little to cure my craving for rich and beautiful elements of natural wonder. Even entering Colorado did nothing for me. It wasn’t until I had traveled closer to the middle of Colorado that my journey really began to get interesting.
I hadn’t ever driven further west than Chicago before. I had been to Vegas, but I flew to Las Vegas, so I didn’t see anything leading up to it on the ground. I’d been told the trip really doesn’t start getting really good until I hit Colorado, and encounter the mountains. It was indeed at that point when my outlook on the journey went from “Oh man, seriously?” to “Wow… I love this!” The conditions of one’s adventure determines their experience, and the further west I went, the better everything became.
Throughout the next several weeks, I’m going to be putting together several things to share with everyone, and I’ll try to keep a steady schedule for updating you all. Beginning next week, I’ll be starting my travel series on Thursday. After that, every Tuesday and Thursday will be something new for everyone. That’s the goal anyway.
I hope you enjoy following me. There is lots to share. You can follow me on Twitter, or Subscribe on Facebook for constant updates. You can do this easily by clicking the “Subscribe” buttons above the articles, or by clicking the “Like” button on the Facebook box to the right.
