Watch Dogs Game Delayed, and I’m Okay with That

On this episode of “Things I Learned Today,” I discuss the delay of the much anticipated game, Watch Dogs, and why it’s not that big of an issue as long as the added value is there. Of course, I’m a little sad in the fact that I won’t be able to play it very soon, but I do respect the decisions of the developer for making the difficult decision for the good of the title. There is so much hype around this game, and it would be devastating to have it come out on time and suck.

I feel like this is a decision most people should make about their products. Being on-time for something like a game or product release isn’t a big deal. It doesn’t matter if you are first or that you open your doors precisely when you claim you will. The important thing, above all else, is that the product you are releasing into the world is complete, and the quality is of a level you are satisfied with, and you feel your customers will be satisfied with. Of course, there are plenty of situations where deadlines matter, but I don’t think this industry is one of them, as far as the customer’s viewpoint is.

Maybe I should rephrase that and say, as far as my viewpoint is. I don’t know. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
