Do you have any references for money they've made.

    • There is public record on the legal salaries of each of the members of the Phelps family practicing law in the state of Kansas, and they've openly stated their members are required to 'tithe' 30% of their salaries to the 'church,' although there are some that believe (no specifics or evidence to support) that those members end up receiving that money back, and only give it out for a paper trail for taxes later.

Because they are a 'church' as defined by the law (for now), they are not required to divulge all of their 'earnings' or balance sheets and other financial statements. I can be assumed that they make millions per year, but it would only be an assumption.

Average income for a family in Kansas, as of 2012 (2011 tax season) was $39,000USD. The incomes of each lawyer in the Phelps family, as a matter of public record, is as follows (cannot confirm members match that of the 'church', but the names are consistent with members of the church, and their areas of practice):

Margie Phelps Corrections Executive III $65,972.00
Elizabeth Phelps Social/Rehab Svcs Executive III $65,522.00
Fred Phelps Jr Corrections Attorney A $55,239.00
Abigail Phelps Juvenile Correct. Special I $42,536.00

The Phelps have stated (as of 2010) that they spend over $200,000 on travel expenses for their public appearances at funerals and other public events. It's realistic to assume that a large portion of their income isn't used for that, but there is really no way to truly tell how much money they make every year.
