<![CDATA[To kick things off, I bring you the first of many videos to come that will showcase my journey across the country to the west coast. It was a very rewarding experience, and there is simply no way a flight could adequately replace it. In this first edition, I introduce you to this weekly series, and show you a brief summary of what happened from Michigan up until I entered Indiana. I didn't film much during the first little bit of the trip, so I decided to use almost every bit of footage I gathered in this first video. As I traveled further and further west, I began to film more and more, taking in all of the scenery as best as my iPhone camera could. I also packed a Canon 60D with me, although it's usage only came with stops along the way. For what could be considered obvious reasons, I couldn't film with my 60D while I drove, especially without stabilization in any of my lenses. In the beginning (probably through Episode 2), there is less footage than normal, because I really hadn't thought about making this little series until around west Illinois. In this first episode, for example, you'll notice there are time-stamps to let you know about changes in actual time as it passes. These are taken from shots of my car's clock, as well as time-stamps on the video itself so that you can see how fast time is progressing. I'll likely keep this theme throughout the series, even though later episodes will be far less choppy, and possibly a bit longer in length because of having more detail. We'll also be going a little slower than one state per week as time goes on, because I've got a lot more footage as we travel west. Stay tuned for more updates on my trip out west every Thursday. On Tuesdays, I'm hoping to present other random videos to show you guys around Hollywood, and thus, they'll be far more recent than the actual trip itself.
