This series begins with a pre-release copy of the game.

Surviving Mars is a sci-fi city builder all about colonizing Mars and surviving the process. Choose a space agency for resources and financial support before determining a location for your colony. Build domes and infrastructure, research new possibilities, and utilize drones to unlock more elaborate ways to shape and expand your settlement. Cultivate your own food, mine minerals or just relax by the bar after a hard day’s work. Most important of all, though, is keeping your colonists alive — not an easy task on a strange new planet.

There will be challenges to overcome. Execute your strategy and improve your colony’s chances of survival while unlocking the mysteries of this alien world. Are you ready? Mars is waiting for you.

  1. I know the numbers is higher with marsgate but since u can dodge the event in a way i find that the last war mystery is harder. With the favt that last war cut ur supply and force you to accept colonist is really hard if you dont have the ressource to support it

  2. You can bore through miles of Martian rock to construct tunnels but you can't level an area to make the foundation for a dome. Even though you've got in-situ concrete factories and piles of rubble to use for back fill. Interesting. Maybe you have to research some futuristic sci-fi tech like "the bulldozer".

  3. Yeah, wind power on Mars is a pretty silly idea. That fact should be reflected in the game. Mars' atmospheric density is ~1/60th of the Earth's, so for a given wind speed, you'd need 60 times more windmills, or windmills that were 60 times larger, to generate the same quantity of power. Viking 2 lander wind speed data recorded an average annual wind speed of 4.3 meters per second. At that wind speed, the largest wind mill built to date, which is as tall as a skyscraper, would generate ~9 kilowatts. That's _nothing_. Most of the time, it would produce even less than that.
