The court is a specific size because of the animations, I think so, but yes they can make the court big.
I'm my first playthrough all my students became sick and I had 100% fail rate at the exams because of dirt hahahha, try always have one free janitor.
And the students use the library and the computer room on they free time, they just don't use the sports room like you want Hahahahhaha.

Or you could just remove all janitors routes. Let them clean by thenselves
I'm hoping the scheduling thing is just a weakness in the game still being in development, and we'll get more tools to manually adjust schedules as it goes on.
