Prison Architect 2.0 – Ep 22 – Laundry Is For Losers – Let’s Play

Let’s Play Prison Architect 2.0 – EPISODE 22. In this episode, I’m just continuing the struggle, and trying to diagnose the violence situation to make them happy once again.

…. I know from comments that this is a food issue as well, and will work to remedy that. I didn’t see that at the day of recording, but I see the comments now. I’m looking into all causes, and will address them when I have the financial ability to do so.

Prison Architect is a game where you plan and design a prison from scratch, and then manage it and all the potential problems that go with it. From proper segregation to maintaining happiness within the population to prevent riots and improve rehabilitation, players in Prison Architect are tested on their abilities to solve problems before they get out of hand, while also managing a budget and growing their business.

The concept of building and managing a prison is a dark one, but Introversion Software, the creators of Prison Architect, have done an awesome job at bringing this conceptually difficult game into a lighthearted and fun environment, with fun graphics to go with it.

New Episodes will be posted here when they are edited and available, and may take different forms and pace as time goes on. A link to a full post covering the episode will be linked as the first thing in this description if available.

I hope you enjoy this series. I intend to play it for as long as there is interest in it. I know this isn’t a new game, but I hope to present a style that is enjoyable, despite perhaps seeing the game before.

  1. Ive not played this game but a strategy I thought up us to make (or at least assign) sub blocks for the gangs. Nothing else has to be built but I think each row of cells should have a specified gang in it. So one row of cells has blue gang and no gang normal prisoners, another row would have blue gang and no gang maximum prisoners while another row would have green gang and no gang prisoners. What do you think?

  2. You need to change your regime. Give prisoners much more free time. Especialy in the morning. They need only 5-6 hours for sleep, then 2-3 hours free time to forfill their needs, eat, work, yard, work hour or two of free time and sleep. Normal sec can work 8 hours in two 4 hours blocks. Max sec only 6 hours in 2 three hours blocks. It should calm down. You also need more janitors, prisoners do terrible job in loundry. I have prison now whit 680 prisoners all max sec. and only 130 guards total (arm, dogs, snipers, regular) and this regime work perfectly, no riots.

  3. Leaving me handcuffed to a hospital bed for hours before putting me in solitary did not make me happy, Charlie. Do you know how many meals I missed? All you have do is look at me to know that food is important to me (but don't call me fat, it's mostly muscle). You can make it up to me by building me a nice big cell with a sofa and a TV. Otherwise, I might just burn the prison down.

PS: Janitors deliver the laundry, so you may need more. Also, I think you are having trouble feeding people in maximum security. Pay attention to the "Feed prisoners" bar on the left hand side during eat time. When they are eating there is not much food on the serving tables, but there's food on the cookers.

  4. Agreed on Janitors shout. Only Inmates assigned can do laundry but only when they have a work slot. Janitors will do the majority of the laundry. On my most recent save, I have over 300 inmates and 30 janitors.
